The Chatham Capitol Theatre History
- Late 1927 - Charles Hadley began the dream of a new modern theatre in Chatham
- April 1, 1929 - Harris Theatres Limited (of Sarnia) purchased the property. Construction would begin on April 7, 1929
- April 23, 1929 - The sod was turned on the Theatre
- September 5, 1929 - Contract for the construction of the building was awarded to Avery Ship Company
- February 18, 1930 - Famous Players Canada Ltd purchased the Capitol for $225,000
- April 11, 1930 - Capitol Theatre formally opened
- Summer, 1938 - The Capitol Theatre was fully air-conditioned for $6,000
