Join one of Canada’s premiere choirs for a celebration of Black music from around the world. Lead and founded by renowned conductor Brainerd Blyden Taylor, the Nathaniel Dett Chorale is Canada’s first professional choral group dedicated to Afrocentric music of all styles, including classical, spiritual, gospel, jazz, folk and blues. The Chorale has shared the stage with such esteemed artists as Joe Sealy, Molly Johnson and Jackie Richardson, and performed at global events honouring Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu and Muhammad Ali, as well as the inauguration of President Barack Obama. This inspirational evening of music will feature works by Black composers past and present, and a joint performance with local choral singers!
